Emily Webb: The epic snow storm. Super cool. Check out our page.
Seemor Disillusioned: People randomly abandon their cars on the freeway in Portland ? And I bet the owners got mad when their cars were towed . I only watched this video to see just what these guys were crying about with a foot of snow on the ground when I have almost 4 feet worth in my yard on the other side of the state . I didn't see it , they have no cause to whine near as I can tell .
Pamela Pugh: I got 15 inches in Cedar Mill of the West Hills. There was a lot of snow and ice. I watched the coverage all day long since I could not go anywhere since my bus system was cancelled the storm was so bad. My apartment complex here in Cedar Mill did nothing to help the situation and could of cared less if I fell on the ice to injure myself. I heard that the people who got all their cars towed off of 26 had to pay a tow fee plus a state tow fee as well as a city tow fee. The tow companies and UBER and Lyft all were crooks trying to get people home in this storm. I fail to understand why my apartment complex in the last few years has doubled my rent hardly cared or gave a damn about its residents getting our mail and taking our trash and doing our laundry. Those things do not wait and the utility companies and my bills are not going to wait for their money. The media made ODOT and PBOT look great like they plowed the whole city and they did not .Nothing was done within 6 complexes over here in Cedar Mill. I think it is bad to lie and make these agencies look good when they hardly plowed any of the areas in Beaverton and Cedar Mill.
Filming In Portland: So any idea WHY the hell 26 west outbound from the tunnel was closed down like that?? Could they not find a way to allow at least a single lane of cars through so people wouldn't be stuck all night?? Same with that I-5 North incident; same damn thing that happened several weeks ago. I don't get it. When you already have that many cars on the freeway, you've got to let them through, even if slowly! And if the roads weren't outright closed, why couldn't those with traction devices go around the stopped vehicles?? Everyone who can, needs to pay closer attention to the weather and get yourself home before it falls! I learned my lesson in the 2009 snowstorm, and if snow is coming, I head home early or work from home that day to avoid it altogether. Not everyone can, but more can than they give themselves credit for. People need to try to be more careful to avoid this, and if they're going to drive during a known snowstorm, buy some damned chains to keep in the trunk!!! Each time, these idiots with no business in the snow think they'll make it. They know they can't, so stay home!!
It's like, anyone who had been here for any length of time knows you can't predict weather accurately here due to all the microclimates and different systems that merge. They know that 1" of predicted snow can easily be 10". So be prepared for the unexpected, and never, ever assume it will only be 1"!! If it's starts falling, get home NOW because it might not stop!!
