WESTWOOD, Ohio (Perry Schaible) -- Why do we go to the grocery store before snow storms to get bread, milk and eggs?Well, rumor has it, according to accuweather.com that it started with New Englanders. That's fitting this winter especially. There was a monumental blizzard in 1978 when people were trapped in their homes for many days. They realized they had to get the necessities before the storms. That's part of why we do it today. There is even a "National French toast Alert System." that's because bread, milk and eggs are the essential ingredients for French toast. That system alerts us that in Cincinnati, it is time to stock up on bread, milk and eggs. Follow Perry Schaible on Twitter @Local12Perry and LIKE her on Facebook.
